Staff and kitchen
The irreplaceable staff and the kitchen, where chef Gianfranco Tonossi assisted by Soufiane Najoui, prepare the dishes you love, in an atmosphere that is totally gas-free, where only electricity is used in order to improve the quality and lower toxic emissions. Cuisine in which tradition and innovation come together.
Oak dining room
The quaint exposed stone walls, the antique dressers in solid wood and the central column in Beola granite, create a magical atmosphere for a lunch or a dinner, whether for work or pleasure. The standout feature of the room is a wrought iron vine branch, incorporated into the top of the large oak table, as a symbol of the Sartoretti family’s passion for wine.
Enoteca (wine bar) room
The room, on the lower ground floor, has a recently restored arched roof in exposed stone. It has two large tables and can seat up to 18 people. The crates and bottles on display all around the edge of the room create a lovely atmosphere.
Cellar room
The cellar room is located on the lower ground floor immediately on the left. The room has a 19th century table that supports a clear glass top, from where the two open cellars can be seen, one for wines and the other for cheeses; the latter of these houses the various vintages of the famous “Bettelmatt” cheese, as well as other typical dairy products.
Stube room
Stube means fireplace. This room, on the lower ground floor of the restaurant, can accommodate up to 20 guests and is decorated along the sides by exposed stone arches. The effect is very cosy in winter when the fire is lit which creates a typical mountain atmosphere.
Small dining room
The room that houses this dining room is where the kitchen was originally. When the kitchen was relocated it was converted to hospitality, with a wooden floor and ceiling and exposed beams. It can accommodate up to 14 guests.
The main dining room
The first room we encounter is the main dining room. It is furnished in Ossola style, with exposed stone walls, antique pictures and a ceiling featuring wooden beams. This room is always in use and can accommodate up to 30 guests.
Balcony veranda
The balcony veranda is on the same floor as the main dining room, from which it can be accessed. Original and comfortable, during the summer it is also used in the evenings because of the guaranteed cool air.
Summer garden
The garden is located in front of the restaurant and is used for aperitifs. Sheltered from the weather, here guests can enjoy fine wines and Ossola delicacies, in the shade of the vines and admiring the lower Ossola valley with Domodossola in the centre.
